Is All Jewellery Vegan?
No, traditionally jewellery making isn’t vegan friendly. Some workshop practices use materials such as rawhide mallets, beeswax, animal-based polishing compounds, and leathers. These have long been part of the trade, so it’s not always something people realise is involved behind the scenes.
For me, making jewellery differently is an intentional choice. Earth-friendly jewellery is about keeping sustainability, ethical sourcing, and mindful craftsmanship at the heart of every piece. I work alone from my home studio, creating each item by hand using materials and methods that are gentle on the planet and kind to animals.
This means avoiding animal-derived materials, choosing recycled metals, ethically sourced gemstones and working in a small-scale way that focuses on care, longevity, and thoughtful use of resources rather than mass production.
